 Last but not least... my favorite moment of the night, our first dance!! It was so magical that I cannot find the words to describe how amazing it was. I had to wait 7 years to have my first slow dance jajajaja..., yes many years I know, but the wait was worth every second, specially when we were looking into each others eyes. In this very moment, I felt like I was the prettiest girl in the world jeje... but most importantly, I felt the happiest and luckiest girl to found someone like you, mi guapito!

Find Your Love

This will probably be one of my last attempts trying to get summer out of my system. I'm still in denial that it's slowly coming to an end. Next week I will travel to Mexico (where it's rainy season already) and since I will not be back before October, I'm saying goodbye to the great summer weather. 

So today I wanted it to share the look I chose to go to the Drake Vs Lil Wayne concert. Bright and confortable is the keyword for this outfit. I wore Brian Lichtenberg tank top and styled it with Abercrombie shorts and gold sneakers by Nike. 

Talking about the concert I just wanna say that I LOVED IT!! In fact I added some videos from that day, so you can take a look of how was it. I just found another reason to love living here..., that means more concerts to go! Full happiness <3 xoxo, Danny

DJ Tap Tap - Overfly

One thing I love about my job is that there is always a first time... During my stay in Switzerland I had the chance to meet Virginia Gomez (better known as DJ Tap Tap) to take the pictures of the album cover art of her single Overfly. The job combined two of my greatest passions (besides my boyfriend jiji) music and fashion. You probably imagine... It was really fun!

She is one of the most influential DJs in Zurich, and I have to admit I love her style which is super fashion and her sets are guarantee to rock the party. I wanted the cover to reflect her personality: The outcome are these Military Style inspired shots that show her in a strong and confident way, just as her lyrics say: Fly, Spin and Win the crowd!!

BTW: Thomas Sanders is the mysterious producer behind the twisty sounds of Tap Tap and last month she released her song on iTunes. So go and check out the single and party to it! This girl is the bomb and she will explode on this song :-)           

Gesichter - Esa Mi Pau!

Personalidad la tienen todos, solo que en ocasiones hay gente que sabe destacar lo mejor de si mismo mas que otros y es así como logra diferenciarse de las demás personas.
El mundo de lo creativo se define por la evolución de nuevos conceptos, de visiones vanguardistas o simplemente de una necesidad de diversificar lo ya existente para crear algo novedoso. Cada artista proyecta su amor por algo y en el trayecto, cada uno de ellos, aprende a apreciar el pasado como una base teórica y el futuro como una plataforma a su propia visión de las cosas.

Este es el caso de Paulina, mejor conocida como EsaMiPau! Una DJ mexicana con toda la actitud de provocar nuevos estilos musicales fusionando el pasado con su presente. A pesar de estudiar diseño, Paulina siempre se sintió atraída por la música, de hecho, sus comienzos en ese mundo comenzaron cuando se unió al equipo IBERO 90.9 mientras estaba en la universidad. A la par de su carrera, ella se fue involucrando mas en la locución y se pudo dar cuenta del vínculo tan grande que había entre ella y la música. Estar en la radio le permitió involucrarse con gente que compartía su misma pasión y después de terminar su carrera universitaria, Pau se instaló de lleno conduciendo y probando su lado creativo "mezclando" música en diferentes lugares de la ciudad.

Hoy en día, aparte de ser una de las consentidas en radio IBERO, se mantiene bastante ocupada como EsaMiPau DJ en los lugares más alternativos de la ciudad de México; y por otro lado sigue experimentando fusiones con gente como Jacinto DiYeah (DJ, cantante y productor), donde produjeron un álbum llamado Verano Peligroso.

Sus proyectos a largo plazo no existen, pero su amor por la música la guía y la mantiene viva para lo que venga. Pau es una de esas personas que sigue creciendo y evolucionando constantemente y parte de su formación diaria es dejarse llevar por una buena melodía, canción o sonido... eso es lo que la motiva a seguir adelante y a querer disfrutar y compartir su forma de escuchar y vivir la música.

#GRAUZONE

¡Click!... Es uno de mis sonidos favoritos, es también una palabra que me define como fotógrafa y la cual tengo hasta tatuada en mi dedo índice.

Uno de los motivos por los cuales amo la foto es por la emoción de escuchar ese sonido que registra el momento indicado que yo visualizo a través de la cámara. Sé que hoy en día existe un sin número de imágenes que bombardean al ojo humano constantemente. Conforme ha pasado el tiempo, me acostumbro a la idea de que todo mundo se siente "fotógrafo" y que en su vida diaria, siempre existirá un "lucky shot" que logre capturar el instante perfecto que ellos.

La fotografía define instantes y eso la vuelve única y especial, pero hoy en día compite cada vez mas con un compañero de vida que es el video. Bueno o malo, los dos comparten la visión de capturar momentos y se han vuelto una herramienta cada vez mas importante para interactuar en un mundo deseoso por ver y conocer cosas nuevas o simplemente para informar o mostrar lo que pasa cada segundo a nuestro alrededor y en diferentes partes del planeta.

En lo que me corresponde como fotógrafa de moda, quise hacer un pequeño experimento en donde pongo a prueba las dos herramientas tratando de visualizar y entender lo mejor de ambos mundos, mi amigo Issac fue el ejecutor del video y yo tome control de la cámara fotográfica. Acompañados de buena música y de un ambiente totalmente "fashion", nos dejamos llevar por el momento y capturamos nuestra visión de un conjunto de imágenes que se cruzaron ante nuestros ojos...

Si me preguntan a mi, puedo decir que el resultado final pudo guardar la esencia de cada uno de nosotros; y en nuestra muy particular forma de ver las cosas, cada quien plasmó un concepto diferente y a la vez extraordinario. No es hablar solo de ropa o del maquillaje perfecto, es tener la capacidad de poder mostrar un todo que refleje lo que cada quien percibe... es plasmar tu visión y convertirlo en algo hermoso, los invito a que lo vean y hagan sus conclusiones ustedes mismos.

Coachella

Reviewing these photos makes me miss Coachella and Palm Springs so much... 

It was the perfect combination of beautiful weather, great sceneries, awesome music and my birthday party!

Coachella's first weekend perfectly matched mine and my boyfriends birthday dates, which was meant to be for us to celebrate in style!! To make things even better, two weeks before the festival began I had to cover a wedding nearby, so why head back to Mexico if  I could stay and spend some time with my family until the other party rockers arrived...

  

So, let me give you a handful of impressions of that fabulous celebration, captured through my lens. I must admit that this year's lineup was kind of special jajajaj, most of the bands were totally new to me. Never the less I had a wonderful time together with my "corazoncito", my best friend and cousins. I will never forget this special kind of way to celebrate my birthday and I can't wait for the next one!!!

Gesichter - BBOY JAY-ROC

Back in Summer '87, when eleven years old Elaz-E (nowadays B-Boy Jay-Roc) started practicing his first breaking moves like step and six step, and probably would have never thought that even today he'd still be deeply involved in what is called today the Hip Hop scene. In the late 80's Hip Hop culture became very popular and also reached Basel City, native place of Swiss rapper and dancer Jay-Roc. He told me that during the first years, to him, breakdance was all about respect and the Saturday Night Jam sessions were Basel's best dancers came together to show their moves and battle for fame.

Hard training and the thrive to be the best, gave him the idea to join the forces of the city's best dancers into one crew, in order to reach higher levels of competition. Subsequently, Basel City Attack (BCA) became the first Swiss breaking crew to compete internationally with several excellent appearances that has put Swiss breakers on the map.

"The newly gained fame opened many doors to me" Jay-Roc stressed out, and ever since then he put all his effort in bringing this fascinating expression of art to the broad public; Saturday night life TV shows, urban theatre plays and a professional Break Dance instructional DVD are only a few of the milestones to be mentioned. 

I think he has changed the way people would look at Breakin' simply because he was able to combine street realness with the commercial success of B-Boyin'.

As a creative artist, he felt the urge to do something about the ever repeating and sometimes boring Beats that were played at the battles. While enjoying the success with his newly formed Ruff'N'X crew, Jay-Roc and at the same time was developing another way of listen and feel the music. Knowing the importance of a good track and the influence it has on the dancer, he started to produce beats together with Jakebeatz, a way to express his creativity, combining his experience as a breaker with his talent for hard beats and catchy hooks...

Jay-Roc is a true artist and he knows that it's not easy to live this kind of life, but to him it's like vitamins; he needs them to express his ideas and emotions dancing, rapping or producing something.

"I don't know if I will be doing this forever, I just love what I'm doing, creating things that involve Breakdance and Hip Hip. Maybe I will stop rapping and producing but I see myself dancing till the end". Jay-Roc

Until then, and with his third studio album underway, check out to his first single release "All I know" featuring B-Boy Wicket.

Somewhere in a Hotel

Music for the soul, photos for moments that capture loneliness, hope, sadness and expectation...  Remi Rebillard knows how to create those moments and emphasize melancholic feelings with this kind of portraits.  

This occasion requires a blurry and lovely song, that's why I think about Air and their amazing soundtrack "The Virgin Suicides".
